I noticed some Ornamental Rhubarb in Vancouver last fall and loved the huge leaves and fragrant tropical red flowers towering above. This variety below is good for zones 3-6, grows quickly to 6' tall and 6' wide in sunny areas or partly shady areas.
Great Gunnera is similar to the Ornamental Rhubarb. The leaves can grow to 5 feet across! The plant can reach up to 9' tall and 12' wide, grows quickly and likes full sun and lots of moisture!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and welcome to the realm of megness. I gather inspiration from many places. Maybe too many. I'm always finding more interests and more zest for creating. I believe that the best inspiration is found in the oddest places, and quite often, my grade school art classes. Shadow boxes. Need I say more? Anyway, I hope you enjoy my nerdy affections that lead me down my creative path as a designer, potter, crafter, brewer, adventurer, gardener and general life lover, and most likely more to come.

I think ornamental rhubarb is the
best bet to fill up huge spaces, and it can be so striking in appearance.
